The Talos Principle 2



I had the great opportunity to help Croteam on the development of The Talos Principle 2!


This time was to help implement performance related aid on the project looking at some of the newer features inside of the Unreal Engine.


My main focus point was to help assess, research and implement World Partition across the game. Working out Grid Sizes for best performance for when content was correctly loaded.


The sheer scale and verticality of some of the levels the Croteam had designed were fantastic to see, but this had impacts on the World Partition process - meaning we had to assess assets that needed to be merged and actually removed from the spatially loaded process.


The experience was really worthwhile as it allowed me to expand my knowledge inside of the Unreal Engine learning new features and processes, whilst also getting to work on an exciting project.
