With the current research project I have been working on with UCLAN and the Global Sound Movement, we had chance to showcase our work at the British Science Festival in Coventry.
For me this was a great chance to see how our VR drum worked in the hands of people who had no real idea what VR was or how it could be used, and to see how they approached playing a Virtual Drum and the feedback it gave.
From what people related back to me, the overall experience went down well. The haptic feedback of the controllers helped the user feel like they are hitting the drum - and with the sound being reactive to how hard you hit the virtual drum, this also helped with the immersion of the experience.
